Free arrangement

Broken Chord

A chord in which the notes are played successively rather than simultaneously (see also Arpeggio).

The secret to smooth broken chords is “blocking.” Practice playing the notes simultaneously as a solid block first. This teaches your hand the shape it needs to be in *before* you start wiggling your fingers.
