Free arrangement

Largo

Italian for “broad.” A very slow tempo, slower than adagio, implying great dignity and breadth.

The Savvy Take

Largo is dangerous because it’s easy for the music to die. You must subdivide in your head (count 1-and-2-and) to keep the inner motor running, otherwise the silence between notes becomes awkward rather than dramatic.
